 At the Simon Says Stamp Blog, this month is Stamptember, and today's feature is an exclusive set from Honey Bee Stamps - which is actually on it's way to my house this very moment.  I fell hard.

The new set is lovely, and I can't wait to use it during Kathy's next 30 Day Color Challenge!

 I had a reality check 'just' the other day.

I did some computing. I 'only' have 12 more days to get all my Christmas projects done.  This is due to only getting craft time on Sundays, since I work full-time and for the life of me can't seem to get to my craft area in the evenings. In reality, there are 13 Sundays left, but I also have to ship gifts, and send my cards, so I say Twelve Sundays. But, shoot! I'll probably lose a couple more days due to travel plans.

I think I am now down to 11. Or even 10 craft days.  Hmmm.. I see a list in my future!

Today's big accomplishment ('m having a stay-at-home restful Sunday) was making this card for Molly and Brian who are expecting their first baby in late May.  The baby shower is April 15 in Casper, Wyoming, and since I won't be there in person, their gift and card will be sent via mail.

I am also entering this into the April Paper Smooches Challenge 'shower' theme, which includes baby shower cards. Ta Da!

Friends!

It is with great delight, excitement, and a big ol' "I Did It!!!!" that I present to you my 12 Tags of Christmas! Oh it was a long long journey to get these babies done, but I did it! There were early mornings, before everyone woke, and a sneak here and there to get parts done... I was working three jobs up until Dec. 23rd, so time was very very sparce! But I did it!

The deadline is tonight, midnight, and I am early!!!! I sent the file to Tim before lunch! Yippee!

It feels so good to get these done. I have loved watching Tim's demo's and tutorials each of the three past years, and I usually make 3 or 4 tags.. This year I promised myself I would get them done!

Why? Because of Tim. He puts so much time into making his tags, and photographing them, and giving us all the details, and then each and every day, he gives away a ton of goodies!

I wanted to do this, to Thank him for what he gives us. I wanted to share the whole experience.

And let me tell you.. I have such a greater appreciation for what he did! These little tags take a long time to make! Details! Details! Details!

But oh so Fun!

Confession about my Thanksgiving Place Card!

Hello sweet friends...

After getting your sweet comments about how I was able to make such a cute little place card, and be so organized, and on top of the Thanksgiving decor and holidays... I must confess.

I started my Thanksgiving and Fall crafts over the summer! If you clicked on yesterday's photo, you would see the green grass in the background...and the August date! I'm sharing all of them above...


Yep. As part of the Cornish Heritage Farms 'Stamping Star' challenges...and in particular, the Masterboard Challenge (create your own background and use on multiple projects) I started my fall goodies!

So, you see? I'm 'really' organized. Or even ready. Or on top of it. And, I still have three more place cards to go! But, at least the template is done...

BTW: Most of my motivation is driven by adrenaline and challenges! Thank goodness, or I would not get anything done!

Speaking of Adrenaline:
The drive yesterday was just fine! No worries! More about my interview(s) later...

Any other moms/chefs have to work the day prior? For crying out loud. I will be working until 5:30 pm! That means all the goods need to be in hand, like, on Tuesday...but I do have Thursday thru Sunday off.. that's not a bad 'exchange', eh?


But wait..

Rumor has it it takes 4 days for a frozen Turkey to thaw... That means this girl had better get her turkey (no jokes about the Mr.!) by this Sunday! ACK!

OK.. Off to contemplate other timetables, to do lists, and things I'd rather be doing!

I started and finished my One Sheet Wonder/Masterboard projects today for the last challenge of the Cornish Heritage Farms Summer Design Star Challenge. Boy, it was hard making that first cut into my paper! The OSW was 12x12 and I managed to get 2 layouts, 2 cards and a placard - all from one sheet of paper!

It's sad that the challenges have all come to an end. Yet, there was so much inspiration and 'new' friends made! I'm glad I participated and stuck through each and week!

Now what will I do with my spare time????

Stages of My CHF Masterboard/One Sheet Wonder!

So, I thought I would share with you the steps I am taking to make my last and final project(s) for the Cornish Heritage Farms Summer Design Star Challenge.

The last challenge is to make a One Sheet Wonder (also known as a Masterboard), and then cut it up to create as many projects as you can from that one sheet of paper.

In other words, using CHF stamps, make your own patterned paper.

First, let me say, I love the CHF stamps and have been having so much fun playing (in the wee moments I can)!! This last challenge has been keeping busy... I actually made another OSW, after I did my first one, from a different set, and will play with that at a later date. This is fondly known in my household as 'one of mommy's sidetracked adventures'. I tend to wonder off from what I am supposed to be doing - and work on another project!

Case in point: I really should be getting ready for the two meat orders that I am filling this morning, as well as my day job work, but since I finished coloring my sheet, at 5 am, I then scanned, then merged, and thought, might as well post this baby!!!

And I am still in my jammies...

Let's get back on track, shall we?????

So, after I stamped this, I thought 'oh this is fun fun fun'!!!!
I loved the result, scanned it, and thought that I was done...

But, then I thought...
Hmm... Should I color it????

And, then this happened (over the course of 3 days - snippets of moments, you know!)

I colored the images with Copics and Stampin' Up Markers
Just put the finishing touches on early this am!

I really like my resulting paper and do not want to cut it!!!

Our Fabulous Night Out & Country Charm (CHF Make a Scene)

Scene's From Our Night Out Last Night

Jake ordered this fabulous dish last night at our Big Night Out!
Everything on this plate is from the La Grande Farmers' Market.
I had the Lamb Kielbasa, Dick had the Lamb Shank
and Sami had the Pasture Poultry Chicken.
Yes. All from Sexton Ranches!
Yeah for Foley Station!
Our total bill was $155 for four.
Normally, we would not be able to afford this.
Normally, we would tell the kids to eat something less expensive.
And, normally, we just would have stayed home due to being tired (me),
sore (Dick's Bad Back), or sick (Jake suffered a horrid bought of stomach flu).
But, we could not pass up this splendid table.

Last Night was Special.
It was time to support one of our regular customers,
and support the La Grande Farmers Market.
Everyone Wins!!!

The Appetizer
Sexton Ranches Lamb Linquisa Sausage with Feta Cheese
and tomatoes, stuffed into a Portabello Mushroom!
We all loved this one!
We also shared two wonderful salads, one number with cherries,
and another with lots of tasty tomatoes, a tomotillo vinaigrette and kalamatta olives.
The second salad was inhailed by our children!

Dick and I also had an Oregon Merlot
The kids had tasty concoctions
(Sami accidently shared her drink with Jake,
and she got to have the same horrid stomach illness earlier today).

This was the BEST dinner we have ever had out.
Period.
Jake kept saying he wanted to hug someone!!
I have never seen such dining bliss on that boy.
I need some cooking lessons from Merlyn!!!

We kept thinking it would have been so cool
if Aunt Alice and Uncle John could have been with us.
THIS would have knocked their socks off!!!

So, after last night's dining experience, it was a slow slow morning.

My Entry for the CHF Summer Challenge Week #4 - Make A Scene
I used the Rummage Bin 'Primitive Beginnings' Set.
Today is my play day.
Between the kids interrupting me, and my husband wanting to know
where lunch was, I managed to get 'something' done!

I'll spare you the other attempts I made.
They all involved masking on one sheet of paper.
The first was my 'draft'.
Then, after cutting out all my masks and stamping the various layers,
I 'had it' going so well until I repositioned one dang stamp!
And ruined my scene!
Arrrggg.

And that's just the way it is!

CHF Week #3 - Resist - Which Would You Pick?

Door #1 - The Tree
This card really made me mad! That tree stamp would not ink up completely.
See the Blue gaps in the trunk?
So I rejected it.
After several attempts at getting the perfect tree.
I was so sure I could do it!
HA.
This baby cost me way too much time at the crop till you drop.
Ink. Stamp. Clear Emboss. Ink.
Say What???
Repeat.
Many, many, many times...
It was that intense!
I'm tempted to burn this card to seek my revenge...

Door #2 - Aged Sheet Music with Crochet
(This is missing the Sentiment that I stole for the card below!)
This one was better. But seemed so plain!
Too much brown.
I'm saving it for a resurrection at a later date.

Door #3 - Especially For You
Now this card, I liked!
But after I took my photos, I noticed it looked a bit odd.
My scallops are funky!
And, it just did not look balanced.
Back to the fix-it shop..

Door #4 - Especially For You - Revamped!
OK..
I did some fixin'
But, as you can see,
I have some funky scallops at the bottom
(they look like teeth!)
But I am so done with this!
I've got to move on!!!
I have things to do!
I have relatives coming to visit!
I have to get up at 3am tomorrow!

See how I work? Scary, isn't it? I don't know if it's like this for other stampers and scrapbookers, (in terms of all the trials and errors) but I thought I would share with you 'what happens in my creative world' when I try to make something for a specific challenge.

Do you think it's because I am left handed? I mean, I operate differently, right? As in left.
Different part of the brain.



Well, I have to say... Resist Stamping and I have spent this past week in a battle. Oh yeah... My head hurts from all the 'stuff' I attempted in my 'free time'.

I'm thinking of those precious naps I passed up :)

CHF Week #2 Challenge - Paper Piecing!

Here is my entry for the Week #2 Challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms for the Summer Stamp Star Design Challenge.

Now this card was something I just loved loved loved to do! Paper and scissors and fun stamps and yummy papers. FUN! :)

I used some of my favorite papers by Webster Pages that have been hiding out (aka, hidden from my mini me crafting princess) so that I could play with them! (Note: Sami has been known to get into some favorite papers I left 'out' and used them to her little hearts desire... as in chop chop chop! which is fine.. really, it's fine.. I mean, they should be used! By someone!

Work News:
OK! So, get this. For my new fun job, I have to go to a crop till you drop tonight! Meaning, gosh, I have to pack my goodies (done!) and take them to town, and help other peeps shop and play, and not cook, but eat free tasty snacks (chocolate, anyone?) and stamp and scrapbook until midnight.. And, I get to bring the mini me, who gets to play, too. I mean, work. Yeah. That's it. Work. And, I get paid to do this!!!!!! Ha ha ha! I am feeling like one lucky girl!!

Of course, that is following the 'schedule' of one market last night, and another today..

Staying up until Midnight will be the test!

Can't say I am 'thrilled' with the results! I am not good at coloring! I even practiced on several different trees!

Yesterday, I made a super long post about the past week.. and how I survived! But, since I am running out of time here, I will have to share the photos and deets later... Gater..

The highlights are...

• I survived!
  
• I am now on a multivitamin
• I colored during my free time (card above)
  
• I did two markets during 'all this' (Baker, Boise)
• My family 'ditched me' on Saturday.. I went to Boise, they went to the rodeo in Haines
• My family got 'dumped on' during a Thunderstorm while at the rodeo, while I was driving home (just sayin' - a little Karma?)
• Another storm came through last night
• Looks like another storm today! (I love storms!)
  
• I fell asleep during the backyard firepit and fireworks 4th of July party! Maybe because I woke at 3am and had already a full day????
  
• I walked 2 days! (yippee!) No sillies.. Not 2 days straight! I 'went for a short walk' - 2 different days.
  
• And, I took the kids to 'our pool' yesterday and had 2 hours of bliss in the sun - with one of my scrappy mags.. Love me some sun and water when its hot hot hot!!!!!

Coloring Week! CHF Week #1 Challenge

I'm Reaching for the Stars!

I've been coloring in my 'free' time... It's the current's week challenge at the CHF Big Ol' Honkin' 5 week challenge going on! Tee Hee!

The special 'this week's challenge' gallery is getting busy! Lots of beautiful goodies in there!

Of course, this means, for me, I am not doing any other of my favorite challenges (Hero Arts, Caardvarks, 2Peas)... not until I get the CHF 'project of the week' done and under wraps!

Focus. Focus. Focus.

All I can share right now, is that I have been playing with trees, and coloring with them with different colors to see which ones I like...

Life At the Ranch:

It's been absolutely gorgeous! Summer is here!

I am such a California girl. I love my sunshine.. And water... Oh the combo package!

Heaven.

But, summers fly by!

My 'free' time is very sparse right now! Serious 'busy' going on!

My Report: Day 1 At the New Job:
I woke at 4am and was so darn excited!
I am one lucky lucky lucky gal.
I went for a walk... did some work at the ranch, and went to my new job. I am working there 20+ hours a week.
This is the place where I taught my recent scrapbook/altered art classes. Yippee!

My boss asked for my 'perfect' schedule.. and then she adjusted everyone's schedules around it... (note to self - give boss lady a big fat kiss - or box of chocolates! And, some goodies for co-workers for being so accommodating of new chick on the block!)...

Oh my gosh.. Just typing it makes me want to cry! She is so awesome!!!!!!! ( I'm also tired from all the awesomeness going on!)...


How on earth does anyone work a full-time job? And be a mom, wife, house-cleaner, gardener, etc. etc.??? Granted, my lifestyle is a little skewed.. and my 'jobs' are not your run of the mill jobs, either! Like yesterday... Seven hours at my new job (it's actually our local scrapbook/copy/ship/mail store - and let me tell ya, we were heavy on the shipping and lifting thing! Crud. I never sat down. And lunch is only 30 minutes. I'm going to be napping on my lunch minutes!) .. I went to my job AFTER I put in a few at the ranch... (I 'herded' a cow and three calves out of my yard, made lamb milk, started laundry, cleaned the kitchen.. prepped a ranch deposit... stuff like that...)

My Dogs Were Barking when I got home!!!! But they are happy dogs!

Too bad the dogs didn't get to park (rhymes with bark) until about 8pm!

I got to cook dinner, clean the kitchen again, mix lamb milk, etc. etc...

But I did get to bed at a decent hour...

Because I had to get up at 4am to do the Chicken Run again! That's what I'm calling it! My Tuesday Chicken Run!

Tee hee!

So Wednesday's Line up you ask? Work at the day job until 2:30 pm; then do the local Farmers Market (I have one hour between the two) until 6:30 pm. Home at 8pm...

It's crazy - but for those of you that think I'm insane, it's just during the summer...I promise!

Then, the markets will slow down and I can as well.

Hey! Maybe I'll loose some poundage with all this stuff!

Hmm....

Believe me, it's getting lots of usage.. or shall we say, practice! I now have a folder full of all sorts of fun diecuts that Sami and I have been making...

Latest News from the Ranch:
Phew! I am dragging my knuckles over here! It's Sunday, 5:45 pm.. And I am still in my jammies... Thank goodness for rainy days following a hectic 'market run'!

Three nights in a row I did not get home until about 10:30 pm...and then to bed at 11 pm. And, it is finally showing.

It's been raining for days! Yep. At the markets, too.

My Canopy is in the garage, waiting for some sunshine so it can dry out!

And, last night I taught a scrap altered class (Dad Clock)... in addition to the Crop Til You Drop (I lasted until 10pm)...

So, tonight is lamb stew, and some good mindless TV!

CHF Challenge - CPS Sketch

There is a challenge at the Cornish Heritage Farms 'Get Fresh' Blog to create a project, using a Cornish Heritage Farms stamp set, and to use the CPS (Card Positioning Systems) sketch...from last week (due date was yesterday!)... And today is the last day for the CHF challenge!


So far this is about the only project I have gotten done on my NSD 'play' list! It's a wonderfully rainy day - the kids are inside and wanting all sorts of help with their projects as well...

Back when we had the Winterfest Event on 2peas I won a challenge sponsored by Becky! Her RAK was a stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms and I just had to get the Spring Trees set! I just 'heart' all of Kim Hughes stamps and this one has been on my wish list for a while! Yippee! My new stamp set arrived last week and finally after 'the week of deadlines and events' I had an excuse to use them!!!! I love Sundays....

So! It just so happens there is a challenge going on at the Cornish Heritage Farms 'Farm Fresh'
get creative blog and the theme is Easter/Spring.

So, I cut my rubba last night, and today got some play time while the rest of the house took their after lunch napsters. BTW, we all take naps!

Anyway, I recycled a Easter Themed container (scrappy goodness)
and used some adorable Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps
to create a fun Easter Scene!
I also did some 'masking' with the bird houses...

It's actually a dog house. See that little stinker???
that is Bugsy. And he is 'so in the doghouse'!
He steals eggs from the chicken house, and anywhere he can find them in the yard.

The rub ons were horrid! Must be too old... but dang they are cute!

This one was for the Do It Again and Again Challenge - meaning, repetitive stamping
(creating a background - the blue and white)
and using it on your project, and the Die Cut challenge as well.
I used Hero Arts and Stampin' Up stamps
on this baby.
And of course, I didn't load my background paper shot!

The 2peas Winter Fest '09 ended at 9pm Sunday night... I was crankin' until 8:30 pm! Sami joined in, too! And let me tell you.. What a hang over! I was zapped on Monday! Why, it's Wednesday and the fog is finally lifting!! (Or is that from St. Patrick's Day???, details, details)

Oh my... What an awesome event! Such great challenges, such great eye candy, and what an inspiring week! That gallery is just rocking with gorgeous work! I feel so darn lucky to 'get to do' these things! Tee Hee!

So, I am sharing a few more of my creations... There are more... Seriously. I was so darn motivated! I see I have to update my blog and remove the banner... Oh my.. just like any event! Gotta take down the signs!

Hey! I 'won' two challenges! I'll share that in the next post... they warrant their own special air time!

Well, off to bed I go. The kids are asleep, and I am up past my bedtime!

I apologize for the 'flood' of creations! I am so bad at posting one card at a time! I admire those of you that savor your creations, one at a time....

Above are my creations from this past weekend for the 2peas Winter Fest 2009 Event being held on the Stamping Board... (it lasts until this Sunday!!!).
