Caardvarks Meets Hero Arts for Christmas!

Season's Greetings
(Click on to Enlarge)

The current challenge over at Caardvark's is to create a Christmas Card/Project - I wanted to do this challenge, and realized tonight is the deadline! So a quick and fun hanging Christmas Card..

The sponsor is Hero Arts - one of my very favorite stamp companies so I just had to use one of my HA stamp sets - the Clear Design Joys of the Season. I used the pine bough and one of the sentiments.

Other Supplies:
Ribbon: Basic Grey (grograins) & Stampin' Up (satin)
Felt Flower: American Crafts
Crochet Flower: (not sure!)
Brad: K&Co
Inks: Stazon
Markers: Copic & SU
Button: Autumn Leaves

So, it's been a dervish of activity over here at Casa de Sexton! Right now, my husband is out of town so the kids & I have been doing his chores (in addition to our own), and doing the best we can to 'have fun' while the boss is away! So far we have managed to:
  • Go School Clothes Shopping. Yes, this is excitment for us country bumpkins! And we Scored! Thanks Target! (Only 2.5 hours away). We also ate at Olive Garden. YUM.
  • We attempted to go to a big ol' swim park in Boise, but it was too darn cold! HELLO! 67 degrees??? And pay 30 bucks each to freeze in line? I don't think so!
  • We ate pizza for last night's dinner
  • I fell asleep at 8:30 pm. Pooped from the day's activities!
  • I woke up late - Ssshhhh!!! I slept until 5:45 am! Crazy, I know.... Tomorrow should be even later! Yippee!!!
  • I even let the kids sleep in until, oh, 6:15 am.
  • I made scones for breakfast, and we also had lemon curd.
  • We saw a play today. The Missoula Children's Theatre was in 'town' this week and one of Sami's favorite friends was in it. We all dressed up. It was so much fun! Sami brought her friend a bouquet of roses... So sweet!
  • Tonight's Dinner: Mac & Cheese
Exciting life, eh?

I don't know about you folks, but our summer seems to be leaving us! Weather wise, our mornings are getting chilly with a slight 'snap'. And where the heck did the morning light go? Holy Toledo! The sun goes down too dang early now! And it doesn't show it's smiling face until too darn late!

So, in a nutshell, we have been trying to jam in our summer now that we realized it is slipping away fast! My latest task is trying to find a ski boat we can rent for our last summer fling!

I think we are going to need some neoprene suits for that one!

I have more to share... photos, stories, close calls...

Take Care!
And thanks so much for visiting!!!

what a brilliant way to make a tree using ribbon strips! and the crochet flower on the top is awesome, as well! :)

Hi, Andi! Pretty card! I like the pine needles all around the border! :-)

Your card is gorgeous! But, it would make me too depressed to be doing Christmas stuff now, the long winter will be upon us soon. Sob. I truly love fall, but dusk is coming so early, and we are feeding our horses earlier and earlier so as to get in before its cold and icky. I miss summer already. Have some more summer fun, quick! I will too! :)

Adorable and clever! Love the tree from ribbon. Ackk! You have the shortest summer ever... The weather seems to change on you so quickly. :) Enjoy your time off with the kiddos before school starts!
