WCMD With a Moxie Fab Challenge

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXkTBOa166J7Bt2mtd2BHkm_FmMw8DYT-bLQ0buOjXJauUBB7E849RKIRxV01t-1l4GZhyphenhyphen2wVh7NWRwAnSpFuURH9BuXuWedexFKCevgYjmwHx9OuWmr6-GKlJmbULCJswVfNNKk7tJvs/s1600/2_mfwwcmd14sketch.jpg

Today is WCMD and all sorts of challenges are going on.   After a day of self imposed honey do's around the house (single mama, been gone a week = boatloads of chores), I finally made a card. :)

Above is a sketch from the Moxie FAB blog: Moxie FAB WCMD Sketch Challenge

Back story: This past week I was in Bend, Oregon for work, and a good friend watched my kittie Rosie, once again!  This is about the third time Katie has come to my rescue to check in on my gato.  And, I am overdue for giving a sweet thank-you gift (chocolates from a super cute little store in Downtown Bend) and card.  So, with that, I was inspired by the sketch. I actually love the way the patterned papers worked with this sketch.

Here is my interpretation (followed to the T, need a card quick!):

WCMD Moxie FAB Challenge Card

 Goodies Used:
Stamps: Kitty:Inkadinkadoo (MEOW collection); Sentiment: Paper Smooches (Sentiment Sampler)
Cardstock, patterned paper (Fancy Pants Beloved collection), vellum:  Simon Says January 2014 Card Kit
Enamel Dot: MME Now and Then

My kittie is orange and white.  So that's her, giving her personal thanks to Katie! Why yes, I will 'sing it' for her:)

Happy WCMD my crafty friends!

25 in 25:Day 2 and Journaling Cards Challenge

Can you spot the journaling card?  It's the inner most layer, with the mini white dotted border

It's Day 2 of 25 in 25 of  Teri's Challenge.  I made a Thanksgiving Card, using a Pink Paisley journaling card from the Amber Road collection.  Can you say hoarder?  I had two complete sheets until I cut into them in the wee hours this morning!

This card is also for the Journaling Cards Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Card Recipe:
Cardstock, ribbon, button, stamp (acorn from Country Blessings Set), ink:  Stampin' Up
Patterned paper: Crate Paper, Pink Paisley
Journaling Card: Pink Paisley
Rafia.

That's it sweet peeps. It's past my bedtime and it's been a very long day.  I made this card between the hours of 5 and 6 am, then went and worked at my day job all day long (after a commute over the mountain with icy roads), and just got back from Sami's Soccer Banquet Dinner.

To say it's been a full day would be an understatement!
And, I am ready to crawl into bed with a very good book.  Now that's how I like to end a day!  Bliss.

Thank you for visiting!

25 in 25: Day 1

OK.. Call me crazy, but I saw the COOLEST thing on Teri Anderson's Blog.

She and Ashley, another crafty gal, are doing a challenge called 25 in 25.  Make 25 holiday/winter cards in 25 days.  I've decided to give it a try, so I can get my holiday cards banged out!

So, the following card is for a couple of challenges:  The Moxie Fab Square Punch Challenge, and, the Hero Arts Bring on the Bling and Dry Embossing Challenge.

Flat View: So you can see the shine and sparkle: Silver ink and ranger distress stickles.

Front View (click on photo to see details)

 Supplies:
HA stamps: LL227 Icicle Snowflakes, and CL497 Find Joy (sentiment)
Chipboard Star: Pink Paisley - colored with Colorbox Silver ink and Ranger Distress Stickles, Picket Fence
Bling: HA Gemstone
Yellow polaroid frame: Daniel Flanders - November kit (also had pink paisley star and patterned paper)
Border: Pink Paisley patterned paper, cut with 1/4" square punch, lined up, and also added stickles
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug - sanded to bring out white core
Card stock: American crafts
Sanding block

OK!  So Day 1 is DONE!!!  Only 24 to go!!!

Hooked on Hexagons - Moxie Fab Challenge

I know.. right?

Two cards posted in one day?  I love days like today:)

As most of you crafty peeps know, hexagons are a HUGE trend right now. And, there just so happens to be a challenge going on at The Moxie Fab World   - the Hooked on Hexagons Challenge.

Here is my card:

Never Give Up (shadows show dimension of popped up hexagons)

Never Give Up
I popped up some hexagons from the My Mind's Eye Patterned Paper that I used as my base up with foam dots to add more dimension to the tag and 'embed' it into the card, or anchor it - whichever is the right term, I like the result.  Hope you do, too!

The challenge ends tomorrow night, at midnight, EST (that would be 9:00 pm, for people in my time zone)!

So what are you waiting for?  There is still time to play!

Supplies:
Patterned Papers, chipboard elements, brad:  My Minds Eye
Card Stock:  Stampin' Up
Ink:  Ranger Distress Ink
Twine & Button:  Unknown (found in one of my Scraptastic Kits)

Porch Play Colors - Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Time!

TT - My Porch Play Color Interpretation

TT Inspiration Source (Pinterest) over at the Moxie Fab World Blog

What can I say???  This card just so happens to be for two challenges!

It wasn't intentional. But the colors from the Porch Play Challenge over at this Week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger somehow imprinted into my brain when I was created this morning's 90 Minute Scramble Card over at the Hero Arts flickr site..... Sally's challenge was to use red, white, and blue.. I added yellow.. and then..it hit me...(little voice, in my head says 'haven't we seen these colors?')...

The Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger!!!

Yippee!!!

So glad when things come together like that (as in my memory, and the actual source!)....

And yes, this card was created under 90 minutes... under 60 actually!

Super.Simple.  (It took longer to take a break and mix up lamb milk for Sami's four bottle lambs!!!!!)

Have a GREAT day!!!!!

Card Deets:
Cardstock: Bazzill, Stampin' Up
Stamps:  Hero Arts CL488 Type
Inks:  Stazon, Stampin Up, and a Stampin Up marker
Fun tools:  Stampin Up border punch and circle punch

Farm Fresh - Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Moxie Fab Trigger - Hand Painted Towel - Source: Etsy
My Interpretation
Hello Blogger friends!

this week I my heart caught when I saw the  Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - Farm Fresh.

How?
  1. I LOVE the colors of the hand painted towel shown above! Winter will not end in our world, for months we have had white and gray. When I saw the trigger prompt something just made my little heart sing with the thought of Spring!  And, how sweet that the sun came out so I could capture it on the edge my card!  Makes me want to take a cat nap!
  2. I love the window in the background of the image - so I created my own with linen thread on the top panel. I thought about making my own 'window trim' to make it more window like, but no... the simpler the better.
  3. Flour Sack Towels.  Sigh... I have quite a few in my kitchen.  Just plain white.  I distressed the edge of the patterned paper to give it more of that 'thready fiber edge' look.
  4. And, there is just a sweet vintage feel to the image, which I tried to capture with the Stampin' UP set Easter Blossoms.  I never would have thought to stamp the silhouette with such a vibrant color!
 Inspired?  The challenge ends tomorrow!!!!!

And... I thought I would share some of the trials and tribulations of attempting to make this card:
1.  I wanted to give the silhouette an apron, with orange flowers.  I tried a few materials, but nope! Spent too much time trying, and finally stopped.
2.  There is a dark blue ink error behind the sentiment panel. The image did not ink completely so I was using a paintbrush with my ink pad.  Got a little carried away in one spot!  Otherwise you would see more of the image!

Card Deets:
Inks, Cardstock, Linen Thead and Stamps:  Stampin' UP
Patterned Paper: Sassafras Lass - Cherry Delicious Spring Sprig (a perfect match!)

Thanks again for stopping by:)

Moxie Fab - I Want to Ride My Bicycle Challenge #2

Sami's Rad Ride
(click on image to see journaling, etc.)

So... I had a moment of inspiration and was playing around with some more bicycle goodies for the Moxie Fab I Want to Ride my Bicycle Challenge, along with the packaging from some Prima flowers, and the bicycle images on the back of a Studio Calico promo piece. There I was, moving things around, and what was to be a card was morphing into a cool title and then I remembered the photos from Cycle Oregon - when Sami's 5th grade class got to ride in the race for a couple miles! Way cool!!!! And, that my friends, is how this layout came to being!

The challenge requires that you use a bicycle in an innovative way. I'm going for the 'bikes as part of a title' technique (It's new! Flashy! Bold! Moxie Fab? Um.. Yeah.). What you don't see, is my attempt at making watermarks on the cardstock with Versamark and the back of the bike tires from the cool Jolee's sticker. I thought it would be cool to have bike tires as my background. But, alas, that did.not.work. But I tried:)

So sorry for the brightness - I took the photo outside, in direct sun, but heck, we finally have sun!

Supplies:
Red Bicycle Dimensional Sticker- Jolee's by You
Adhesive Chipboard Alphas - K&Company (I love these!!!!)
Recycled bicycle promo piece, Fab Rips, scallop border sticker and journal stickers- Studio Calico
Card Stock - Stampin' Up
Sharpie Marker

Thanks for looking!!!

Sweet Ride! Moxie Fab 'Iwant To Ride My Bicycle' Challenge

Sweet Ride!
Digi Supplies:
Patterned Papers: Jesse Edwards Citrus

Vintage Bike ClipArt: Found at Graphics Fairy
Sentiment: Created in MS Word: Berlin Sans Font
Traditional Supplies:
CS: Archivers
Little Clips: Stampin' Up
Yellow Twine: My Personal Stash

The current 'I Want to Ride My Bicycle' challenge over at the Moxie Fab World is to 'Create a project (card, gift bag, tag, layout, home decor item, mini-book cover, etc.) that incorporates a bicycle in an innovative way.' The Challenge ends June 28th -so lots of time to still play!

BTW: There were NO Bicycle stamps at Michael's when I was in the big city this last Thursday. But somehow, I came home with a ton of stuff I wasn't looking for! Oy... I know if I went to Archiver's I could have scored on the super cute one by Hero Arts! CURSES for not driving an additional 30 minutes in nasty construction traffic with my husband's truck! (long story... I have truck and trailer issues - ranch business).

So, my 'innovative way' is the citrus wheels. I gave this one some thought. Kinda lame, I know but there I was, thinkin' of summer... and summer sweetness, which lead to a sweet ride. And gosh, summer colors and tasty things! So... there you have it. Citrus goodies. I added a few spokes with a black sharpie.

And, yes this is a hybrid card. I'm dipping my toe into digital stuff, and trying to make things without getting frustrated!

Thanks for looking!

Moxie Fab Let's Get Sassy - Taintor Tude Challenge!

This Little Anne Taintor Postcard Is On My Fridge
circa 2004
The back of the postcard says it was from Another Day in Paradise: 30 postcards!

Why do I love it so???
Most people try to figure which 'color' wine to pair with the main course.
Not this ranch wife sister!
Nope.. Her main course is the sauce!

Love me some Taintor.
Especially with cows in the background, and an apron!
(Aprons are another of my addictions - they keep my shirts stain free!)
*****

So, when I read about the Moxie Fab 'Let's Get Sassy Taintor Tude' challenge,
I had to jump on board!
Just had to..

My Taintor Style Card

Been a while, eh?

Before I share what this card is all about, I just want to tell you I'm in a perfectly blissful place right now:) I'm upstairs in my crafty little world, wearing cozy clothes; the wood-stove is going, the sun is shining and melting yesterday's snow, and my kids are also being creative!
Sami is playing with 'our' Cricut - she has been taking our cutting orders off a new cartridge - Joy of the Season (which is smokin' hot!!!) and Jake is actually catching up on homework - he is writing a letter to a Vet in honor of Veteran's Day.. Even though my father died in 1990, and they never met, Jake is writing a letter to him, thanking him for his service in the Marines. Oh my heart...

Moxie Fab House Hold Items Challenge

I love Fall! Even though it's 86 degrees on this fine Mid September day, fall is showing it's colors!!! One of our Birch trees has streams of yellow leaves intermixed with the dark green.. (Love that color combo), and our Apples are almost ripe! Yeah!!!!!

Above is my entry for this weeks Hero Arts color challenge #3, as well as the Moxie Fab Household Items Challenge.

Now, here's the deal. I don't have very many 'household' item related embellies or stamps except for the Sparkle Clear 'tea for two' set from Hero Arts. So, we will have to settle for a paper pieced teacup and spoon and a teabag! I am looking forward to the day when I can just sit with a cup of tea and relax... Unfortunately, that day won't arrive until mid November - and most likely it will include snow!

By the way... I used 10 stamps on this card! I managed to pick up the New HA Brocade Cling when I was in Boise last week.. What an awesome stamp... I used it on the chipboard...

Thanks for Looking!!

Supplies:
HA Stamps: CL137 Small Variety Alpha, CG102 Antique Brocade Cling (stamped on circle chipboard), HA Sparkle Clear Tea for 2 (teacup, spoon, teabag), JS153 Month September (leaf)...

Other supplies: Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy PP; Brocade PP (unknown); Kraft & Chocolate Chip CS, ribbon, and linen thread all from SU; Autumn Leaves button; SU Top Note Die; Basic Grey naked circle chipboard; Ranger Distress Vintage Photo Ink; Old Olive SU Ink, Stazon Olive Green & Timber Brown.
